OTHER FAITHS Jesus Christ is my Lord and savior and I confess that it is my firm personal belief that He is God. Most faiths have their own understanding of what demons are, and how to help people afflicted by them. The idea of demons, by some name, seems to be almost universal. I am not very knowledgeable with the methods of other faiths but I know people that are, and they seem to work in some cases. The faiths I have heard of working well are all "good" faiths. God seems to often show mercy, regardless of our faith, if we are acting in good will to try and help another. For serious cases this help often seems to be granted through the activity of devout clergy, not often for laity. Therefore I am not encouraging anyone to try and deal with demons; this is to be done by specialist clergy in whatever faith system you are in. It would be unethical to suggest a treatment that I do not directly know works. I do not presume that other belief systems and faiths have not been successful in helping people with demonic problems. I can suggest the Roman Catholic approach as effective to Catholics and Christians. There can be tricks, both
against Catholics and other faiths. Demons can pretend to be driven
out, or leave a location or person of their own choice to foster a false
sense of pride or power in the person intervening. The long term recovery
of the person is the real test. We see a corollary of this in the false
faith healers: the people often walk due to adrenaline and then relapse
to their former condition after the show is over.
