REQUESTING HELP Preliminaries Document in clear plain language the difficulties you are having. Sometimes writing things out helps you to clear your mind and see things with a more objective perspective. Write down the specific difficulties you are having. If there seems to be paranormal phenomenon going on, document the facts of this as best you can with photographs, video, sounds recording, or journaling. Consult with your medical doctor and have a checkup to be sure you are physically healthy and there isn't a medical reason for the difficulties you are having. Depression, hallucinations, and other difficulties can be due to medical or psychological conditions. These need to be ruled out as part of a rational adult approach to the problem. Keep a diary of all events and steps you take relevant to the difficulty you are having. Asking a paranormal research group to come in may or may not be helpful. Some Clergy will investigate claims of demonic problems on their own, some will not. If your religious leader(s) do not offer that service and you wish to use an outside group or person, be very cautious. If you are having a genuine demonic problem the wrong people can make it worse. Make sure the person or group has references of other people they have helped, and ideally religious references that can speak to their experience and calling to be involved in demonic cases. If a group tries to charge you money to investigate or help with a demonic problem, say no thank you: religious work against the devil MUST be done as an act of charity. House Blessing A basic house blessing is a good idea regardless of whether there is a supernatural problem. A house blessing should clear out any negative issues left by the previous occupants of your home. This can be done by Clergy and involves prayers and the use of Sacramentals in your home. Before the house blessing, be sure to remove any occult objects (Ouija boards, divination devices, tarot cards, satanic images or paraphernalia, etc.) House Exorcism A house exorcism is a more serious step and generally requires the clergy to consult with their Bishop. A house exorcism will generally not be done unless there is clearly documented supernatural problems in the home. House exorcisms are very effective in dealing with demonic entities. Free will choices to continue to engage in evil acts or engage in the occult can let the demonic back into your home as quickly as they are expelled by a house exorcism. Before the house exorcism, be sure to remove any occult objects (Ouija boards, divination devices, tarot cards, satanic images or paraphernalia, etc.) Deliverance Deliverance, or Deliverance prayers, is the process of praying to God to help a person or location. Deliverance prayers can be said by any Baptized Christian but I would recommend that only experienced Clergy engage in deliverance prayers. The saying of Deliverance prayers is generally not done without consulting the Bishop, though some Clergy are liberal with the use of deliverance prayers. Exorcism An exorcism is a Catholic Ritual and can only be performed by Clergy with the formal permission of their Bishop. An exorcism is only done after full documentation and ruling out of all possible mundane explanations for the difficulty. Nobody should perform, or assist at, an exorcism without proper training and supervision with experienced workers. Laity should NEVER attempt to perform an exorcism. Please
